Review: MAC Impassioned (Amplified) Lipstick

First of all, let me confess....I feel stupid smiling at the camera on self-timer...Hats off to the bloggers who do it with so much poise! Nevertheless, I will keep practicing till I master the art.Wish me luck!

I have a story behind this lipstick, I wanted a hot pink lippie since March and I wanted "Girl About Town" or "Hot Pink" by NYX...One day my sister who lives in Mumbai went to NYX counter. She asked me if I wanted anything and I asked her to check if Hot pink was available having very thin hopes (I have been to that store in Mumbai and they DO NOT HAVE a good collection) but coincidentally, Hot Pink was available and being over excited, I asked her to get it for me.When I received the lippie, I was even happier coz the color was exactly what I wanted. After few days of gloating over it, I finally used it one day. And I WAS DISSAPOINTED!! The color was so sheer and too neon!!!! Even on applying 3-4 coats, the color kept sliding on my lips...ugggh! Now I desperately wanted Girl About Town but since I was at my hometown, there was no MAC store available. But as soon as I reached back to Delhi, I rushed to a MAC Counter to buy Girl About Town but when I tried it on, it somehow didn't look good on me! I guess, it was too blue toned for my skin type. I was sooooo dissapointed but then the SA offered me Impassioned, I was still upset and half-heartedly tried the lippie and OMG!! This was the color!!! The perfect hot pink!!!! I bought it without any second thoughts and mahn, I am glad I did! After a month, I still can't get enough of it!he he...

Okay now, onto the review.....

MAC Impassioned Lipstick is a full on Amplified Creme Lipstick and gives a very opaque finish in one swipe.
MAC describes it to be Amped-up fuchsia and I agree with this description. It is bang-on the trend of fuchsia pink lips!

Price - Rs.990/-

What I like about this lipstick:
- The color!!! Perfect hot pink...!!!
- Quite moisturizing, I do not apply any gloss over it.
- Long Lasting...well, it's MAC so, OBVIOUSLY!
- The color do not budge at all, even if it fades, it leaves a strong tint.
- No need to apply any lip liner underneath.
- Color pay-off is amazing!and buildable...

What I don't like about this lipstick:
- well. NOTHING :P

Swatches: Left - 1 swipe, Right - 3 swipes

Lip Swatch

I feel my camera is not doing justice to the color...so click HERE for a more accurate swatch.Yes, that's how neon this lippie is!!!

My experience with Strawberrynet.com

If I could just wrap up the whole story and my experience in one word, I would choose......lemme see......CRAP!

I know, most of you order from this website and are pretty satisfied with StrawberryNET but I am just talking about my experience here. So, let the story commence....

I was contacted by the PR Manager of the website and was offered a chance to shop and avail a 50% discount voucher on the whole order and then review them on my blog.Easy, right? No, not for me, as being a student I do not own a credit card but I wanted to avail the offer and hence I went ahead and used my Uncle's credit card and ordered stuffs worth 100$ which included a few things that would have been the prizes in my next giveaway (Yes, I have already started to collect stuffs for my next giveaway...^___^). All went well and my order was confirmed and I received the receipt in my mail.I had chosen the safest shipping option for which I paid extra 15$.Not a problem with me if the product reaches me safely in 2-3 days!

Later that day I checked my order's status out of curiosity and to my surprise, the order was on hold, I mailed the security center asking about the problem but got no reply that day. It might have been the time difference problem, agreed! Next day, they asked me if I could send them some kind of utility bill on the credit card which confirms that it is my credit card and the address also matches.I had never been asked for any such kind of bill or proof ever before, and I have ordered stuffs from ASOS recently and it's already here! I have also used credit card payment on Fashion and You sometimes, but they also never asked for any such kind of bill.

Anyhoo, I explained to them that it was not my credit card but I could send them the credit card statement and I did. But, they rejected it saying that address was not visible in the statement!I mean, if it is some security check, what could be a better proof than the Credit Card's Statement!!I was flabbergasted! I told them , I do not have any kind of utility bill and hence, I cannot send them the same (By this time, a week had already passed, so much for paying extra 15$!!) and then no reply came!!EVER!! Now, let me tell you the date of order - 12th April'11....TWO WEEKS!! I finally had to mail them to cancel my order yesterday.

Out of the whole experience, I have one major complain and that would be..."Why don't these people reply!!!" I mean, isn't that what they are paid for!And you got the money, just send me the stuffs already!! I am very upset with the kind of treatment I received from StrawberryNET, I had always heard good things about the website and never in my dreams, I thought that they would be so disappointing! I wanted to do them the favor of at least writing about my experience with their website, so, here it is!

Tommy Hilfiger Childrenswear Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

The summers are here and we all are busy creating our perfect summer/spring wardrobe but what about the cute little kids? Don't they get a new shiny wardrobe with all the coolest clothes in there!!Oh yes they do!!
Thanks to Tommy Hilfiger who recently launched their Children's wear S/S Collection for 2011.And luckily, I was offered this opportunity to visit their store and review it on my blog.

The store is in the heart of Delhi i.e. South Ex market, Part - I, and it's filled with the cutest clothes ever!!The brand's American cool and preppy persona clearly shows through the collection which is inspired by America’s elite Ivy League universities as well as the holiday state Hawaii.

The whole collection is divided into three fashion groups, Little League, American Prep and Hawaii Hula.

The Little League is inspired by the Ivy League and tends more towards the neutral palette with focal colors of nautical blues mixed with fresh, clean white, grey heather and stone. The American prep is all about classic styles worn with a fashionable new twist. The key colors in this fashion group is Heritage red, white and blue, updated with preppy pop colors such as green, pink, yellow and bright blue. And the last and my favorite, Hawaii Hula takes inspiration from the most beautiful and paradisaical of American states - Hawaii with the fresh tropical colors – different shades of pinks, yellows, blues, turquoise and green – with essential navy, olive and fresh white. A lively, vintage palette!

The store had amazing collection and I really enjoyed myself while going through it.The environment of the store is very lively with all the charming staffs and the cute clothes...and ooh ooh! the cute little toy arrangements like the little badminton, the tic tac toe, the toy cars and did you check out the bulletin board with pictures of cute kids trying on the clothes!

So, now if you are fond of kids and want them to gift something which they would definitely like, I think you would know just the place! ;)
