An ode to summer...

{Romper - New Look, Scarf - thrifted, Handbag - Forever 21, Flats - Rosso Brunello}

Summer, oh summer, you've been such a blast!
But why, oh why, must you go by so fast?

I loved this outfit!! It was super comfortable and so stylish! I am kinda sad that's summer is fading away...I am not yet fully satisfied with hot pinks, bright yellows, rompers and jumpsuits.And I am gonna try to make the best of the last few days that are left before fall kicks in....And yeah, I am going nuts about scarves these days, I wear them Every.Single.Day! No exaggeration! So, don't be annoyed if you see a huge pile of cloth hanging around my neck in every single post. Can't help it :P

Curly+Frilly = Girly!

{ Tank Top - Mango, Skirt - Kazo, Waistcoat - Zara, Shoes - Carlton London}

I love experimenting! And I love mixing & matching...These few interests of mine often lead me to new interesting outfits. I washed my hairs and used my new Philips Salondry Pro Hairdryer with the diffuser nozzel. It was my first time, so I am pretty satisfied with the results (The curls were really low-maintenance and they lasted for 3 days!) The curls were giving me a girly feel so I decided to wear something that would match my mood (yeah, I wake up 2 hrs prior to my college time for all of this!! lol!).
I had bought this skirt from Kazo almost 2 years back and wore it just once and never touched it again coz I didn't like it. But today things are different for me. I think now I can make many old pieces in my wardrobe to work for me and suit my style.So, I went ahead, mixed & re-mixed until I got the perfect look.I really like this outfit, it's really flirty & girly & smart, all at the same time.

Now that I go back and see the pictures, this outfit looks very similar to what Taylor Swift would wear. She is often seen sporting oxford shoes, girly and feminine dress & skirts, and obviously her pretty curly hair (mine doesn't even come near to her hair!! Hers are such pretty curls! *sigh* )...

Jump leads!

{Jumpsuit/Necklace - Thrifted, Ring - Forever21, Shoes - US}

{Jumpsuit/Necklace - Thrifted, Ring - Forever21, Shoes - Venus Steps, Sheer shirt - Zara}

Every girl should own a LBD (Little Black Dress). True. But I say every girl should also own a LBJ (Little Black Jumpsuit).It's perfect for summers and so so easy to wear. You can dress it up as easily as you can dress it down.I wore my LBJ recently and played with the look to make it classy and casual. For the classy look, I wore a nude pumps & bright fuschia lipstick (it doesn't show up on the camera, I honestly don't know why :/ ). Later while going to the mall, I slipped into my favorite comfortable bellies and threw on a sheer shirt over. I also changed my lippie to my mlbb color as the bright fuschia color was not going with the red shirt. So, with a little this and that you can wear one classic piece in many different ways...Try it yourself!

Color blocking at it's best!

I love this trend the most and recently I came across pictures of a few celebrities rocking this trend. These celebrities have taken it to a whole new level. Now I am restless to try one of these bold color blocked outfits!!Soon soon soon......

This one literally took my breath away. Emma Stone is really stepping up her game. I am impressed!

Yellow against turquoise! Unique!

Ashley Greene is looking breath breathtakingly pretty...

Coral is the hottest color of this season and Jennifer Love Hewitt knows how to work it ;)

Gorgeous clash of colors....innovative!

This is slightly old picture of Rihanna considering her red hair is long gone now but I couldn't resist adding this one. It's so brilliant...she has used her red hair to color block her outfit!

Pretty & preggo Jessica Alba...

Olivia's outfit is gorgoeus gorgeous gorgeous! It's unexpected on her but she is rocking it!

Prettiness!

Sonam Kapoor looks hot on the launch of OK magazine....she is the only hope of bollywood who is not letting India to fall behind in fashion trends.I love love love her fashion sense...so chic!

So, which one's your favorite? For me it's Emma Stone & Sonam Kapoor....

Interview: The Niranjan Sisters

Hi friends,
I am sure you all are well aware of my deep interest in fashion and now being a fashion designing student, my most recent fascinations are Fashion Designers. I have been google-ing Nida Mahmood, Gaurav Jay Gupta, Samanth Chauhan, and many more designers. Their work is amazing! And imagine my excitement when I got a chance to interview one of the budding designers from Chennai!!!!

The designer duo that I am interviewing today is Divya & Navya Niranjan. They believe "The dress must follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress". They are young, gorgeous and set on making a niche for themselves in the growing fashion industry. They not only design women's wear but have also presented menswear in their newly launched "Blueprint Coleccion".And they are currently working on a new collection which would consist of contemporary Indian wear.

1. How did you get started in a fashion design career?
 I have always been interested in fabrics and the way they are transformed via design into clothes. I have never had a formal training in fashion designing but later I was offered a job as a production manager with a leading designer in Chennai and that is where I really came into my own and discovered what I wanted to be.

2. What do you most enjoy about designing?

We get a rush when we design clothes for people and when they appreciate it and love what we make for them thats the moment we enjoy and cherish. I remember once during models fittings for the launch of the label.. One model said that the clothes from the line were 'vivacious masterpieces'..  I will never forget that :)

3. What is the most challenging aspect being in this field?

Giving a great quality product to a client.

4.What made you both decide to design together?

I decided that I wanted to start my own clothing line and I told my sister, Navya about it. She was thrilled and said she would love to do this with me. That's how it started.

5. Any inspirational personality that you both look upto?

We're big fans of Mr.Amitabh Bachchan and would love to design something for him one day :)

6.Any suggestions/advice for the fashion designing students like me?

 Work really hard. This is not going to be a cake walk. It's going to take a lot out of you to start your own clothing line but believe in your passion and never give up on your dream.

7.Tell us about your Blueprint Coleccion.

Fashion need not be limited to expensive designer brands. A flair for putting together and pulling off the most sleek and basic styles denote a penchant for simplicity and class. This is where blueprint coleccion makes its mark. It offers the hottest trends in clothing.
8. Any closing thoughts?

Fashion is a way to express yourself and we strongly believe that one should discover their own style rather than immitating.
Fashion is constantly fleeting, style is forever!

Timeless classic : A white shirt

{ Shirt - Forever21, Navy Pants - Zara, Gold Flats - Da Milano, Red Bag - Vansons, Bangles & Earrings - Forever21, Belt - Promod}

I find myself fascinated with all the latest trends that flood fashion magazines.I enjoy reading and discovering new trends and feeling inspired...so inspired that I want to incorporate them instantly in my personal style.But sometimes, I just want to wear something that's simple, style it in my own way and just let it be....but still look chic.Like today.

I woke up late and was totally not feeling like going to college today, it has been a hectic week. Still, I dragged myself out of the bed and hopped into shower...but the big problem? I had no idea what to wear...and at such times I revert back to wardrobe essential pieces. BAM! Here comes the white shirt to the rescue! Lately, I have been finding myself drawn to this color...I now own many plain white t-shirts and few shirts. They are no fuss pieces. And I love that about these white beauties. Just a few pop of colors here and there and I am good to go.

P.S.- Yes, that's my new room. Pics have been taken by self-timer and that's the way it's gonna be most of the times till A comes back :/
